Specimen Requirements

Preferred Collection Container: serum red top tube

Also Acceptable Collection Container: No Gel Lithium Heparin tube or EDTA tube @ Allen

Collection Information: 

Collect 1 ml serum (red top tube, NO SST). Draw minimum 4 hours after ingestion. If toxicity is suspected, samples can be drawn at any time.

Serum or plasma must be separated from cells within 2 hours of draw and poured off.
