Specimen Requirements

Patient should recieve a minimum of 3 doses before monitoring. Draw peak level 15-30 minutes after completion of IV infusion or 1 hour after an intramuscular or oral dose. 

Collect: 0.5 mL of Lithium heparinized plasma or serum.

Serum or plasma must be separated from cells within 2 hours of collection and poured off.
