Specimen Requirements

Collect nasopharyngeal (flexible calcium alginate) swab. Gently insert the swab through the nose to the posterior nasopharynx. Leave the swab in place 15-30 seconds, rotate, and remove. Place in the swab in viral transport media. Label with name, room number and source. Send to Lab immediately. Only one specimen per site per day will be accepted.
