Specimen Requirements

Specimen is collected by masturbation or coitus interruptus into a clean, dry container. (Sterile urine cup is acceptable).

Deliver to the laboratory immediately (within 6 hours of collection) keeping the specimen at approximately body temperature. (Wrap the container in a dry towel or washcloth).

The collection date, time and other information MUST be included on the form to be filled out by the patient.
