Specimen Requirements

Collection Information: 

1. Place mineral oil on the edge of a microscope slide or dull scalpel blade and scrape up to 6 different suspicious lesions.
2. Transfer scraping material to the center of another labeled microscope slide, cover cover slip with nail polish and place labeled slide inside a specimen cup for transport.
3. Alternatively, skin scraping material can be rubber banded between two slides and placed in inside a specimen cup.
4. If no slides are available, skin scrapings can be transferred into a specimen cup where they will be processed at the lab.

Transport Information: 

Transport and store at room temperature.
