Specimen Requirements

1. Contact microbiology laboratory to obtain a list of acceptable specimen types and collection media.

2. Collect specimen with a dry swab from infected area and place in a black-capped, sterile tube.

3. Maintain sterility and forward promptly. Note: Indicate specimen source on specimen container.
