Specimen Requirements

1. Specimens should be collected using the Culture Swab or E-Swab systems.  

2. Sources for females include: vagina, cervix, urethra, lochia, placenta, labia, Bartholin cyst, etc.

3. Sources for males include: urethral, testicular, penile, etc.
3. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

4. Includes Gram Stain.

Note: Indicate specimen source on specimen container and in computer.
