Important Note

Both urine and plasma/serum are required for this test.

Collect: 10 mL from timed urine AND 0.5 mL of Lithium heparinized plasma or serum.

24 hour urine specimen is preferred, 5 hour specimen is acceptable. Keep urine refrigerated during collection.

Serum or plasma must be separated from cells within 2 hours of collection and poured off.

Transport 10 ml from timed urine refrigerated with hours of collection and total volume documented. Stable for 6 days.

Transport 0.5 mL serum or plasma refrigerated. Stable for 7 days.
