Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube Type: 

24 hour urine collection jug

Collection Information: 

Collect 24 hour urine. Urine must be refrigerated during collection.

Transport Information: 

Entire specimen.

Minimum Sample Volume: 

A refrigerated urine cup with at least 20 ml is preferred if the whole jug is not sent.

Remarks: 

24-Hour specimen must be refrigerated during collection. Record total volume and collection time interval on transport tube and test request form.

Random samples accepted for pediatric patients.
